Ray Promoted to Director of Institutional Research
Susan Ray will be promoted and will serve as DUSON's new director of Institutional Research starting Feb. 1.
Ray has had a significant role in the implementation of our data warehouse, BiSON, and the creation of Reports Central, the repository that supports data-based decision making and the ability to quickly respond to surveys and faculty data requests. She has collaborated with DUSON leaders to understand their reporting needs and has been the primary designer of most of the information housed in Reports Central. Ray and Libby Joyce, higher education analyst, worked closely as the two-person IR team, building a service that is unique in nursing schools, positioning DUSON as a leader in school-based IR. Ray is the natural and highly qualified choice to become our next IR director.
Ray holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Augsburg College in Minnesota. She has been a higher education professional for over 20 years, 10 of these as a business systems and higher education analyst at DUSON. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, she held leadership and staff admissions and financial aid positions at Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering, Nicholas School of the Environment and Graduate School, in addition to roles within UNC-Chapel Hill, the University of Minnesota and Brown College. Her knowledge of academic administration and support, combined with her data management expertise and knowledge of DUSON and our systems, positions her for great success leading the IR office.
Please join us in congratulating Ray on her promotion!
