Register Now for Veteran's Health Symposium

Registration is now open for the Eighth Annual Durham VA - DUSON Advanced Practice Provider Veteran’s Health Symposium. To celebrate Nurse Practitioner (NP) Week, DUSON and the Durham VA APRN Committee have collaborated to offer this no cost, full day Veteran-centric interprofessional educational event.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, this event will be offered via Zoom on November 13 from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The theme of this year’s symposium is “Innovation and Leadership in Healthcare." The target audience for this symposium includes advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), physician assistants (PAs), pharmacists, physicians.

We are excited to announce this year’s keynote speaker will be Richard Stone, executive in charge for Veterans Health Administration. Stone has served in key leadership roles including: Deputy Commanding General of Support for US Army MEDCOM; Deputy Surgeon General, US Army; and Principal Deputy Under Secretary for Health, VHA.

Stone will provide his Keynote address and will be presenting the First Annual Karen Lorne NP of the Year Award at the Durham VA. The award is to honor the legacy of Karen Lorne, NP, an amazing clinician dedicated to clinical excellence as she cared for veterans at the Durham VA.

This event will be recorded and offered as enduring credit at a future date (date to be determined). Follow this link for more information and to register for the symposium: https://rsvp.duke.edu/d/q7qwhf
