Relf Named Associate Director of Duke's CFAR Social and Behavioral Science Core

Michael Relf, associate dean for global and community health affairs, was recently named associate director of the Social and Behavioral Science core of the Duke Center for AIDS Research (CFAR).

CFAR provides scientific leadership as well as establishes, enriches and provides continued infrastructure support to an academic research environment that will effectively promote collaboration and coordination among the community of HIV/AIDS investigators at Duke and its principal international research partners at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC) in Moshi, Tanzania, thereby enhancing both the quality and quantity of their collective significant global contributions to the field.

The Social and Behavioral Sciences core supports interdisciplinary research on the social and behavioral determinants of HIV-related outcomes, in order to prevent new infections, develop innovative interventions and support the application of treatments and improve the quality of life of people living with HIV.
