Great News! Richesson and Jang Receive Awards

  • Congratulations to Rachel Richesson who has received an AWARD for her NIH R15/National Library of Medicine proposal entitled “Quantifying System and Data Readiness for Automated Clinical Decision Support." This award is for a two-year period, awarded September 2, 2016 to August 31, 2018. This project was awarded at $408,357.
  • Congratulations to Mio Jang and her mentor Allison Vorderstrasse who have received an AWARD for their ANF proposal “Understanding Home Food Environment in Families of Preschool Children to be Related to Childhood Obesity: Mixed-Methods Research." This award is for a one-year period with a project start date of September 1, 2016. This project is awarded at $4,946.

Good News! Befus, Lipkus and Goode Submit Applications

  • Kudos to Deanna Befus and her advisor, Janice Humphreys for the submission of her ANF Fellowship application entitled "A Community-based, Systems Thinking Approach to Study Migraine Self-management and Empowerment in Socially Vulnerable Women." This proposal requests funds for a one-year period with a start date of December 1, 2016.
  • Kudos to Isaac Lipkus and his entire team for the submission of their Subcontract proposal on a Georgetown University NIH R01 application entitled "Optimizing Risk Messages to Promote Waterpipe Tobacco Cessation in Young Adults." This proposal requests funding for a three-year period with a start date of July 1, 2017.

  • Kudos to Victoria Goode for the submission of her proposal to AcademicHealth application entitled "Healthcare Disparities and the Surgical Population: Surgical Outcomes for Colorectal Surgery." This proposal requests funding for a one-year period with a start date of January 1, 2017.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: 2016 Nursing Research Conference - November 3

    • The Center for Nursing Research will host the 2016 Nursing Research Conference on Thursday, November 3, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This year's theme is "Leading and Accelerating Nursing Science and its Translation." Individuals interested in participating should submit poster abstracts by email to Libby Ladd at libby.ladd@duke.eduDeadline is Monday, October 3.
