Karin Reuter-Rice and Jennifer Dungan recently presented for the Duke AHEC Scholars to introduce them to Genomics. Reuter-Rice presented on "Genomics and Inheritance" and Dungan presented on "Pharmacogenomics." Both Reuter-Rice and Dungan had an opportunity to do some experiential learning that fostered application of the concepts. According to Reuter-Rice, the students were incredibly insightful and ethusiastically engaged with the topics. The faculty members even had time to share their journeys of becoming nurses and researchers.

DUSON alumni Alicia Gonzalez and several AHEC program faculty were in attendance with 18 students.
