Richard-Eaglin Invited to Speak at NCNA Spring Symposium

angela richard eaglin headshot Angela Richard-Eaglin, assistant professor, was invited as the closing speaker for the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) Nurse Practitioner Spring Symposium, originally scheduled for April 1, 2020, in Pinehurst, North Carolina, but was moved to a virtual platform. Her virtual presentation was entitled "Cultural Intelligence and Unconscious Bias: The Conduit to Health Equity." The objectives of the presentation were to: 1) Discuss cultural intelligence (CQ) and why culture matters, 2) Identify and analyze the relationships between CQ and unconscious bias in relation to health equity, and 3) Apply CQ strategies that may reduce the impact of unconscious bias on health outcomes and interprofessional relationships.
