Richesson Offers Professional Education Course with AMIA

Rachel Richesson offers professional education course to develop national capacity for learning health with the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA).

The AMIA 10x10 course entitled "Data Standards for Learning Health Systems” will educate clinical leaders on how to leverage and improve information systems to support the rapid implementation and evaluation of evidence-based practices and to generate new evidence for continuous health care improvements.

Duke University is one of a handful of universities selected to partner with AMIA to support its 10x10 program, the goal of which is to train 10,000 professionals in clinical informatics to assure that the potential of information technology in health care is realized. AMIA recognizes that while the use of information technology holds great promise, the development of a workforce that can make best and appropriate use of technologies in clinical and other settings is a critical requirement.

Richesson’s 10x10 course is offered in cooperation by the Duke Center for Health Informatics, and is open to any health care professional with an interest in informatics, data exchange, and learning health systems. The course opens on January 23.
