School of Nursing Enters MOU with Saultan Qaboos University

Duke University School of Nursing and the College of Nursing at Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman, have executed a memorandum of understanding and clinical affiliation agreement. These documents formalize the relationship that has developed with Sultan Qaboos University over the last few years.

Over the last few years, several faculty - Drs. Eleanor Stevenson, Val Sabol, Margie Molloy, and Beth Phillips - have served as external examiners at Sultan Qaboos University. Additionally, Dean Marion E. Broome, Drs. Stevenson and Michael Relf presented at their second International Nursing Research Conference in 2018. In the summer of 2019, they had one student and three faculty participate in DUSON's annual Exploring Global Patterns of Health Illness course.

With these agreements in place, we can begin planning for DUSON students to engage in a global clinical immersion experience in Oman.
