School of Nursing Receives Third NLN Centers of Excellence Designation

Duke University School of Nursing achieved its goal of obtaining three Centers of Excellence designations from the National League for Nursing (NLN)!

DUSON now has NLN Centers of Excellence designations in "Advancing the Science of Nursing Education," received 2017; "Creating Environments that Enhance Student Learning and Professional Development," received 2015; "Creating Environments that Promote the Pedagogical Expertise of Faculty," received 2013 and renewed for 2017.

The NLN Centers of Excellence program is a way to recognize schools that have demonstrated a commitment to excellence and invested resources over a sustained period of time to distinguish themselves in a specific area related to nursing education.

Duke University Health System Nursing was the first health care organization in North Carolina to earn the NLN Centers of Excellence designation in "Creating Workplace Environments that Promote Academic Progression of Nurses," received 2016.
