Students and Faculty Provide More Than 200 Screenings for Latino Health Fair

Faculty and 20 students attended the annual Latino Health Fair and provided more than 200 screenings for diabetes, hypertension and obesity. Irene Felsman and Rosa Solorzano coordinated the health screening services with El Centro Hispano. Faculty members Nancy Crego, Rosa Gonzalez-Guarda and Margaret "Midge" Bowers and ABSN and MSN students provided screenings. Students from Solorzano's undergraduate Spanish class served as interpreters and greeters.

As a result of the screenings, the team referred nearly 60 individuals for referrals with three being referred to an urgent care.
