Paula Tanabe, associate dean for Research Development and Data Science, and her team presented a poster entitled "Factors Influencing Care among Persons with Sickle Cell Disease in North Carolina" at the Black Communities Conference in Durham, NC.

Tanabe also presented a webinar entitled "Update on Clinical Trials to Improve ED Management of VOE" to NHLBI, US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Minority Health, and the American College of Emergency Physicians. The purpose of the webinar was to discuss concerns of Sickle Cell Disease care in the Emergency Department.
