Paula Tanabe recently made five presentations on sickle cell disease across the country during the months of September and October. Her presentations included:

• "Review of the NHLBI Recommendations for Management of Vaso-occlusive Crisis" at tje AHRQ R13 Conference Grant in Durham, NC. The theme was "Be a Part of the Change."
• "Debate: Quality Evidence Based Care for Treating SCD in the Emergency Department: Is it possible?" for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America in Baltimore, MD.
• "Improving Emergency Department Care for Sickle Cell Disease: A Case Study Example Two Quality Improvement Teams" ar the University of Pittsburgh in PA.
• "Managing Pain in Sickle Cell Disease" at the University of the West Indies Sickle Cell Unit Caribbean Institute for Health Research in Kingston, Jamaica.
• "Emergency Severity Index (ESI)" for the Emergency Medicine Division at the University Hospital of West Indies at Mona in Kingston, Jamaica.
