Kathy Trotter, associate professor, recently presented a poster entitled "Anxiety Scores of Women with an Increased Risk of Breast Cancer Participating in Facilitated Group Visits" at the American Society of Breast Surgeons Annual Meeting in Dallas, Texas. 

The one-year study concluded that for women with an increased risk of breast cancer attending a high-risk breast clinic, facilitated group visits appear to decrease self-report anxiety. As such, facilitated group visits may offer women in a high-risk breast clinic a supplemental model of patient care, which provides additional education and support for women with increased anxiety.
