Two DUSON Students Selected as Fellows in Margolis Scholars Program
PhD student Michelle Franklin and DNP student Lauren Arrington were recently selected as fellows in the inaugural DUSON Margolis Scholars Program.
Franklin and Arrington will join Margolis Scholars from Public Policy and Law Schools as well as the broader Margolis Center community. The program aims to prepare doctoral students with an interdisciplinary background and relevant practical and research experience to meaningfully inform and impact health policy and management.
Franklin and Arrington will receive guidance on health policy and management courses across Duke and UNC, work with Margolis-affiliated faculty and research staff on research projects, participate in Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy events and experiential learning opportunities, including trip(s) to DC to learn from and network with health policy leaders and professional development sessions. They will also receive guidance on and support for internships, post-doctoral fellowship and/or job placement from the Faculty Director of the Margolis Scholars program and Margolis leadership and affiliated faculty and staff and become members in the Margolis Scholars community of graduate students.
