AnnMarie Walton recently submitted a pilot grant application to the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Center. The purpose of the project is to evaluate the extent to which a hand washing educational toolkit impacts farm worker health outreach workers and farm workers. The hand washing toolkit is the product of an innovative participatory development process that engaged farm worker health outreach workers in every stage. This work specifically addresses the National Occupational Research Agenda Agriculture and the Forestry and Fishing sector strategic goals related to vulnerable workers, outreach partnership, communications and agricultural health.
