Why I Give... Bowers & Arthur Share Why the Annual Fund Campaign Is Important to Them
We are so excited about this year’s campaign! Thank you to all who have participated to date. Nursing has a special place in each one of our hearts and throughout the campaign we will share some stories from faculty and staff that support the school’s Annual Fund.
“I am trying to pay it forward for students who need financial assistance to pursue an MSN degree while continuing to work full time and raise a family. I also think about purposeful giving- if I bring my lunch twice a week and save 10-15 dollars and donate as low as 30.00 per month (2 weeks of bringing lunch 2 times a week) then that money is going to help educate students where I work every day. This comes out to be $360 that is not missed out of my paycheck since I would be buying lunch anyway. We all should strive to give our time, talent and treasure to our profession and we may not always have extra time, but we can certainly share the treasure we have working at a place like DUSON!” ~ Midge Bowers, DNP, RN, FNP-BC, CHFN, A.A.C.C., FAANP, Associate Professor
“Nursing holds a special place for me. My mother was a nurse anesthetist and I started out as a nursing major. So when I think my small contributions may help a student begin or continue a career in nursing, I am happy to do so!” ~ Crystal Arthur, Director, Faculty Affairs
