Ran Xiao, assistant professor, Xiao Hu, Ann Henshaw Gardiner Distinguished Professor of Nursing, and collaborators presented their work, “Impact of ECG Waveform Representation on Classification of Cardiac Arrhythmias via Deep Learning,” at the Machine Learning for Health Care (MLHC 2021) conference. The pilot study investigates key factors in cardiac arrhythmia classification using ECG through deep learning modeling, including waveform representation format and model complexity, and their impact on the model performance. The findings shed light on technical considerations to improve the performance of cardiac arrhythmia classification.
