Michael Zychowicz, professor; and Elaine Kauschinger, assistant professor; recently participated in an invitational national thought leaders summit on simulation in nurse practitioner education in Washington, D.C.

The summit was sponsored by the National Organization of Nursing Practitioner Faculties and the George Washington School of Nursing with the purpose of better understanding the state and use of simulation within nurse practitioner education. The summit discussed the development of a multi-site study which will assess the use of simulation in education and evaluate if simulation can be used to determine successful completion of select family nurse practitioner clinical competencies as compared to the traditional method of preceptor based evaluation.
