NADONA Nurse Leadership Scholarship

The NADONA Memorial Scholarships honor the legacy of our past employees and Board Members. These scholarships are awarded to nursing students currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program who are committed to pursuing a career in long-term care or assisted living after graduation.

Eligible applicants include both undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Additionally, scholarships are available for those seeking to enhance their leadership skills through the Nurse Leadership Training and Prep Course, which prepares nurse leaders for the CDONA Certification exam.

This scholarship will be awarded to any registered nurse who has chosen Long Term Care / Post-Acute Care (SNF or ALF) as their practice area and desires certification as a Director of Nursing (CDONA).  Any currently registered nurse is eligible to apply.  The following criteria have been developed.  Failure to submit the required criteria on initial submission will result in the application being rejected.

The applicant must submit, with their application, an essay of NO LESS THAN 100 WORDS. This essay must include the following:

  • Briefly introduce yourself, your background and your interest in long-term care/post-acute care nursing including your employment experience in long term care/post-acute care.

  • Discuss why you are seeking this training and share any personal experiences that inspired you to pursue your nursing practice in long-term/post-acute care.

  • Describe your commitment to the nursing profession, including your short-term and long-term goals in nursing, focusing on how you plan to incorporate this leadership training into your practice following successful completion.
