Nurses Educational Funds (NEF) Scholarship

NEF Scholarships are for Master's and Doctoral degree study in Nursing.

General Requirements

The following requirements must be met by ALL applicants:

• Current RN license/Registration with current expiration date, from any state within the USA Required
• Current national professional nursing association membership with a current expiration date – such as the American Nurses Association, or specialty organization and/or evidence of international honor society membership (Sigma Theta Tau International). You will be asked to upload a copy of your membership card.
• Proof of current citizenship or legal residency status, such as:
  • United States Passport (biographic page) with current expiration date
  • Birth Certificate
  • Naturalization Certificate from the USCIS
  • Permanent Resident (Green) Card with current expiration date

The NEF Scholarship application process opens October 1, 2025 and will remain open until February 2, 2026.

Applicants MUST have a minimum of two semesters of study remaining after notification of award in May 2026 (i.e. summer and fall; fall and spring)

NEF Scholarships are awarded directly  to the successful applicants and not to their college or university.

For the Scholarships recipients, there may be potential tax implications concerning their NEF scholarship. They are advised to contact their tax advisor for clarification.
