NEF Scholarships are for Master's and Doctoral degree study in Nursing.
General Requirements
The following requirements must be met by ALL applicants:
- Current RN license/Registration with current expiration date, from any state within the USA Required
- Current national professional nursing association membership with a current expiration date – such as the American Nurses Association, or specialty organization and/or evidence of international honor society membership (Sigma Theta Tau International). You will be asked to upload a copy of your membership card.
- Proof of current citizenship or legal residency status, such as:
- United States Passport (biographic page) with current expiration date
- Birth Certificate
- Naturalization Certificate from the USCIS
- Permanent Resident (Green) Card with current expiration date
The NEF Scholarship application process opens October 1, 2025 and will remain open until February 2, 2026.
Applicants MUST have a minimum of two semesters of study remaining after notification of award in May 2026 (i.e. summer and fall; fall and spring)
NEF Scholarships are awarded directly to the successful applicants and not to their college or university.
Please note:
For the Scholarships recipients, there may be potential tax implications concerning their NEF scholarship. They are advised to contact their tax advisor for clarification.
