I have always loved systems and processes that care for large groups of people. Through the DNP Executive Leadership Specialty track, I will learn how to expertly take care of a team and an organization to ultimately care for communities.
As a member of the inaugural Executive Leadership Specialty cohort, I have enjoyed looking at an evidence-based practice project focused on the system level. I am thankful for the wealth of experience and knowledge our faculty and advisors hold and I am excited to continue deeper into the program and grow as a nursing leader.
DUSON places a focus on holistic approaches to education, research, practice growth and community care. Though I have only been on campus a handful of times, I can feel the DUSON values on and off campus through interactions with others.
Health care is complex and nursing is and forever will be the backbone of the health care system as the largest workforce. DUSON develops only the strongest of nursing leaders and I knew that if I wanted to be the best, I would have to choose the best. I know that my Duke degree will prepare me to achieve the quadruple aim of care—providing the highest quality of care at the lowest cost resulting in enhanced patient outcomes and increased health care professionals’ joy in work.
