When I was six years old, I knew I would become a nurse.  My grandmother had cancer and I went to the hospital with her for treatments.  I felt an instant relief from harm when the nurses were around. The comfort that their presence brought to me when I was hurt or sick is the kind of comfort and safety I strive to bring my own family and patients.

I chose to pursue my nursing degree at Duke because the opportunities offered are far more advanced than other universities. Duke has a great offering of programs for graduate school and faculty to help the learning experience be interactive and engaging. After attending Duke Days and meeting the professors, I knew this is where I wanted to be.
