Certificate in Nursing Education
Duke University’s Certificate in Nursing Education equips graduate nurses and students with specialized skills and knowledge to excel in teaching roles within nursing schools, health care systems and other settings. This program prepares you to inspire the next generation of nurses and shape the future of the profession.
The nursing education certificate program is open to registered nurses with a master’s or DNP degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing school, individuals with a Ph.D. or other doctoral degree, and students actively enrolled in a graduate nursing program (BSN-DNP or BSN-Ph.D.) who have completed equivalent coursework.

Certificate in Nursing Education Requirements
Applicants must hold at least a master’s degree in nursing, be actively enrolled in a graduate nursing program, or have completed equivalent courses if they are BSN-DNP or BSN-PhD students.
Current Duke University School of Nursing students can use the Add/Delete form below to either add or delete the Nursing Education Certificate. To initiate the request, students should first consult with their Academic Advisor to discuss changes to their academic progression.
