The DUSON Fall Career Fair serves as an equal opportunity event for our nursing students and employers. It was designed as an open field for guidance, consultancy and exploration of multiple career options for every nursing student at any level in their academic journey. The importance of the DUSON Fall Career Fair was to get all students reacclimated to securing a job and networking in person.
Here are some comments from this year's student attendants:
Courtney Lee Garay, ABSN student
"I have been to other career fairs outside of Duke, and I have never been to such a well-attended, organized and diverse fair. It felt like any possible nursing opportunity was present. It is a welcome and wonderful experience to attend a fair where recruiters are also pitching their organizations to you. It certainly took off some of the stress I had about applying for a job after graduation."
Kaitlin Caraher, ABSN student
"Leaving I felt that I had a thorough understanding of how my job application timeline will unfold and a broadened understanding of what my future career could entail and had learned diverse options I was unaware of before."
