Congratulations to Valerie Howard, vice dean, academic affairs, and her team on her recent HRSA award for the Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP)! The purpose of this program is to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty by operating a student loan fund to support to support DNP and MSN Education majors. Upon completion of up to four years of full-time employment as a nurse faculty member in an accredited school of nursing, students can apply to have up to 85 percent of any such loan (plus interest) canceled. This new award increases the loan fund by $623,088 ($560,779 federal funding: $62,309 institutional funding).
