Stephanie Ibemere, postdoc, was featured in the "Jesuit Connections" portion of the Jesuits Magazine (on page 3). She reflected on how her involvement (education and service) with the Jesuits began, how her education at a Jesuit service learning institution impacted her life, and how she brings Jesuit values (specifically "service rooted in justice and love as well as cura personalis-care for the entire person") into her research efforts focused on increasing the quality of care available to those living with sickle cell disease through provider capacity building (in sub-Saharan Africa and the U.S.) and her service work where a collaborative team (U.S. and Guatemalan) focused on increasing primary care capacity in the rural Eastern highlands of Guatemala.
