Message from the Dean: Thank You!

I want to take a moment to publicly recognize and thank those faculty and staff members who have assumed the important role of beginning the implementation of our strategic plan.

As you will recall, in June we released the School’s 2016-2020 Strategic Plan. Over the summer we reflected on the plan and collected ourselves from what was a very focused, but productive planning process. Over the past several months, small teams of people have been working with our Executive Committee Champions to develop recommendations for implementing the first of the strategies in our strategic plan. In the coming weeks and months, you will see these recommendations put into action. In fact, some of them have already begun.

In the spring, new strategy implementation teams will be created to begin work on other aspects of the plan. If you would like to participate in this process, I encourage you to let your interest be known to the appropriate Executive Committee Champion.

For the moment however, I want to thank each and every person who has helped us launch this important process in such a thoughtful and successful manner.

Marion E. Broome, PhD, RN, FAAN Dean and Ruby Wilson Professor of Nursing, Duke University School of Nursing Vice Chancellor for Nursing Affairs, Duke University Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs for Nursing, Duke University Health System
