Reuter-Rice Wins Award for Critical Care Nursing Excellence
Karin Reuter-Rice, associate professor, has been selected as the recipient of the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s 2021 Norma J. Shoemaker Award for Critical Care Nursing Excellence. This award is presented in recognition of a nurse who has made significant contributions and demonstrates superior leadership skills within interdisciplinary teams to advance the quality of critical care.
The Award for Critical Care Nursing Excellence is in honor of Norma J. Shoemaker, the founding executive director of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), who at a time when critical medicine was in its infancy had the vision to lead the organization to become the largest organization of international interdisciplinary critical care health professionals who strive to secure the highest quality care for all critically ill and injured patients.
The Society of Critical Care Medicine is pleased to present this distinction to Reuter-Rice at the SCCM Congress Awards Presentation on February 5, 2021.
