You Presents on Racial Disparities in Shared Decision-Making Among Families of Patients in ICUs

binnie youHyunBin (Binnie) You, PhD student, gave a Zoom presentation on Monday, Nov. 1, at the Duke Palliative Care Grand Rounds with Deepshikha Caran Ashana. The presentation was about “Racial disparities in ICU shared decision making” and presented the preliminary findings of the team’s ongoing research project using rapid qualitative analysis. The purpose of this study is to accelerate the data reduction and categorize each recording to understand how ICU clinicians engage with Black and White families in shared decision-making based on the audio-recorded family meetings between ICU clinicians and families of patients with prolonged mechanical ventilation.
