458 Students to Be Represented in Spring 2021 Ceremony on May 8

Duke University School of Nursing Hooding and Recognition Ceremony will be held on May 8.

397 students will graduate, while 61 graduates from 2020 will attend.

Congratulations to all of the students who will participate in the Duke University School of Nursing Hooding and Recognition Ceremony on May 8!

A formal ceremony will occur for the first time since the onset of the pandemic last spring and will take place at 10 a.m., in the Cameron Indoor Stadium.

This year, we are celebrating a total of 397 Spring and Summer 2021 graduates: 73 ABSN students, 166 MSN students, 45 certificate students, 102 DNP students and 11 PhD students.

In addition, 61 graduates from 2020 will return to participate: 31 from Spring and Summer 2020 and 30 from Winter 2020.

To adhere to COVID guidelines, only graduates and invited faculty will be allowed to attend. Friends and families will be able to view the event live through our website and on YouTube; a recording will also be available after the event.

This will also be the final commencement event for Marion Broome, PhD, RN, FAAN, as dean of and Ruby Wilson Professor of Nursing of the School of Nursing; vice chancellor for Nursing Affairs, Duke University; and associate vice president for Academic Affairs for Nursing, Duke University Health System.

To all our new and returning graduates, thank you entrusting us to help further your education and career during this continuingly difficult time. It is because of your enduring spirit, dedication and commitment that you have reached this moment, so be proud of yourself and your accomplishments.
