Jennie De Gagne, professor, was an invited speaker and presented two posters for the Overseas Korean Nurses Association’s 6th General Assembly and Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

The conference's theme was "Superheroes: Rising Above COVID-19 Pandemic." De Gagne presented the lecture, "Developing Leadership Skills – A Conversation on Leadership: What Does Leadership Mean to You?," and posters, "Nursing students’ tweets during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic" and "The development and impact of the virtual international exchange program." 

Overseas Korean Nurses Association (OKNA) was established after a need was identified to promote the unity and networking of all overseas Korean nurses at the Overseas Korean Nurses Meeting in 2011, in Seoul, South Korea. Its mission is to be the leader in providing information to enhance the overseas Korean nurses’ organizations. Major objectives and activities include but are not limited to (1) leading the unity of all overseas Korean nurses, (2) supporting the advancement of professional knowledge and visionary leadership, and (3) promoting the nursing profession to future generations of Koreans residing outside of Korea.
