We are beginning a new method of community communication to provide information on the upcoming events and also just general information on progression of events and initiatives within our office. We will do a survey at the end of a six-month period to determine the effectiveness of the emails. You will also be able to find the old emails in the ODEI resource email tab.

Diversity Corner: NAACP
Did you know that in 1909, W.E.B. DuBois, along with a multi-racial coalition, established the NAACP, which is the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. This civil rights organization was an interracial endeavor to advance justice for Blacks. In this new century the mission is to “ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race” (NAACP Vision Statement).
The NAACP strategic plan has what they call “Six Game Changers for the 21st Century” that address the major areas of inequity facing Black people today and are the focus of the work of the NAACP.
