DUKE-UNC Health Professions Education Collaborative Presents a Two-Part Collaborative Event
Duke - UNC Health Professions Education Collaborative presents a two-part event on March 8, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at UNC School of Nursing, and April 18, from 1 to 5 p.m. at DUSON Center for Nursing Discovery.
Part one in March is entitled "Interprofessional Collaboration and Networking," and health professionals are invited to attend a structured networking activity to meet others who share a passion for interprofessional practice (IPP) and/or interprofessional education (IPE). Come discuss the current challenges you face in IPP and IPE and collectively work together to plan future initiatives in IPP and IPE that can cross institutional boundaries and advance collaborative practice.
Part two in April is entitled "Interprofessional Team Building in Action." Interprofessional Team Building in Action is an interactive simulation-based learning opportunity. Participants will acquire interprofessional team skills for the overall goal of excellence in patient care. As a participant, you will:
- develop your leadership and communication skills through a modified form of TeamSTEPPS
- learn new ways of teaching your students from the unique perspectives of other professions
- imagine alternative ways of implementing interprofessional practice at your facility and from your area of expertise
The event is an opportunity for attendees to learn about, from, and with each other as health care professionals so they can enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes together.
