Forte Promoted to Communication Strategist with Marketing and Communications

Michael Evans and the Marketing and Communications Department recently announced that LaWanda Forte was promoted to the position of Communication Strategist effective June 26. In her new role, she will assist helping ensure a smooth and successful transition to the new DUSON website design this fall, and creating a structure for consistent and relevant management of the externally-facing communications content to the School's various stakeholder audiences. She will also assume a larger role in major event and specialty project management within the Marketing and Communications Department.

"LaWanda joined DUSON in February of 2015 as a communication specialist and has proven herself to be a valuable member of the Marketing and Communications team," said Michael Evans. Over the past two years she has served as editor of three DUSON electronic publications — the Monday Update, the Nursing Leadership Exchange and the newly launched alumni newsletter, DUSONConnections. In addition,she successfully managed the growth of the School's numerous social media channels and assumed coordination responsiblities for several high-profile special projects and programs.

Forte is scheduled to earn her Master's degree in Communications from Purdue University later this summer.
