Read her nomination below:

"I am pleased to nominate Angela Goss for the Commitment to Excellence Award. Although I served as dean during the design and implementation of the program, I have never before nominated a staff member. Angela is exactly the type of staff member I had hoped we would honor through these awards. Angela consistently demonstrates excellence in the performance of her job and offers a superb and ongoing high level of service to me as my staff assistant. When I returned to a full-time faculty role after stepping out of the deanship, there were many areas, including technical aspects of my work, for which I was unprepared. I had always has staff support to complete these responsibilities.  With the greatest of sensitivity, Angela ushered me into the real world, helping me learn what I needed to know and treating me with great respect. She gradually allowed me to assume more responsibility but was always there to ask how she could help and, even better, she often anticipated exactly what I would need. Through her support, my transition was made much easier.

Although several people have assisted me to learn the technology for online teaching, Angela has been the most enduring. She is an exceptional problem solver who moves quickly and is always mindful that the student is our ultimate customer. He support of my online course development and implementation has been of the highest quality. Although she reports directly to Dr. Barbara Turner in this capacity, I would add that her work supporting the Division of Family and Children is one more example of how well she takes on new, under-developed projects and makes them work. She maintains good, clear and timely communication with our division members and has been a positive organizing force as a result. My own work and the quality of my work life has been enriched by my opportunity to work with this fine professional. I am grateful to Angela and believe she is worthy of this award." ~ Catherine Gilliss, Helene Fuld Health Trust Professor of Nursing
