Maryellen Kelly, assistant professor, participated as a volunteer at the Valor Games Southeast at Lake Crabtree on Wednesday, May 26, on behalf of the Spina Bifida Clinic at Duke. This one-day event was for veterans with disabilities and consisted of adaptive sports for kayaking, cycling and archery. The event was hosted by Bridge II Sports, a Durham nonprofit that coaches and provides opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to be involved in athletic events.
