The 2019-20 Fight the Flu Campaign has begun and Duke Employee Health has gone to an electronic format for consenting for flu vaccine administration. This can be accomplished in two ways:

1. We will have several iPads on-site for employees to complete the process. Employees who choose to use the iPad need to remember to bring their Duke ID with them to the clinic.

2. Employees can visit the following address on their smartphone to begin the consent process: fluvac.duke.edu. Ideally, they would begin the consent on their smartphone right before they come down to the clinic. There will be a series of questions they would answer and then they will come to a screen with stop sign and instructions to hand their phone to a vaccinator who will complete the last few when they sit down for their vaccination.

Effective this year, flu shots are required of all DUSON employees regardless of whether or not they would be present in a clinical setting, or come into contact with patients or research subjects. Deadline for employees to submit exemptions is Monday, October 14. Deadline for employees and graduate students to obtain an annual flu vaccination is Tuesday, November 5, 2019 and ABSN students have until Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

Flu Vaccination Dates & Locations

Faculty and staff can visit Employee Occupational Health & Wellness or attend a roving clinic for flu shots beginning September 19, 2019. No appointment is necessary.
