Noonan Submits Proposal on SMS-Based Messaging Program

Kudos to Devon Noonan, associate professor, and her entire team for the submission of her University of California, Davis NIH P50, subcontract application entitled: “EMPOWER." This proposal requests funds for a five-year period with a start date of September 1, 2021.

The Duke team for this study will provide a SMS-based messaging program (EMPOWER) that provides participants with personalized exercise guidance based on their responses to weekly assessments during the pre and post-partum period with the goal of achieving appropriate pregnancy activity levels, appropriate weight gain and promoting postpartum weight loss. Services include: Support and collaboration on program configuration and testing in collaboration with Pattern Health, behavioral intervention design and content development, support in developing end user journey and identifying any required content, as well as workflow design and team training.
