PhD alumna Brittney van de Water (formerly Sullivan) was featured in the American Association of Colleges of Nursing "Nursing Science Transforms" campaign. The advocacy effort was launched to spotlight the critical work of nurse scientists and to call upon Congress to protect funding for federal research agencies, including the National Institutes of Health/ National Institute of Nursing Research, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, among others.

van de Water's feature is entitled "Global Health Research and the Appropriate Treatment for Drug-resistant Tuberculosis."
