Paula Tanabe was one of five to receive the 2016 Samuel DuBois Cook Society Award at the 19th Annual Samuel DuBois Cook Society Awards Dinner. Tanabe was selected because her work is changing how sickle cell patients are treated in the front lines of hospitals and emergency rooms.
