TROSA Honored with Housing Award

DUSON community partner, TROSA, has been recognized by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency with one of four 2021 North Carolina Housing Awards. TROSA recently completed two housing units that provide lodging for 60 women in their substance use treatment program. The units include living and game areas, kitchens, 14 showers, and a salon. For every phase in the development, they consulted the city and surrounding neighborhood for input and support. Previously housed away from the TROSA campus, the women living in TROSA’s new housing now feel safer being right across the street, and it is much more convenient for attending classes and counseling and provides easier access to medical appointments off campus. Ninety-six percent of TROSA’s graduates are sober one year after graduating, and 100 percent of them have stable housing. Many of their graduates stay on after graduating to help others through the process of getting sober, and all of them have gainful employment after leaving the program. Watch the YouTube video to learn more about the new TROSA housing units for women. DUSON enthusiastically congratulates TROSA on their 2021 North Carolina Housing Award!
