Welcome to the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging!
At Duke University School of Nursing, we are committed to creating an environment that allows everyone to thrive, no matter who they are. Our office ensures that all students, faculty, and staff are supported, heard, and respected.
Duke University School of Nursing plays a vital role in shaping a more inclusive healthcare landscape by advancing healthcare for all. We support these efforts by equipping faculty, staff, and students with knowledge and tools to better serve and advocate for different populations.
Mission
We aspire to create a welcoming environment that embraces all who enter our doors. We respect all community members, nurture them, build bridges, and create relationships that will individually and collectively enhance our environment.
As we work to achieve these goals, we respectfully and honestly engage in difficult dialogue, increasing our awareness through critically examining ourselves for biases and assumptions. Our model is intentionally focused on inclusivity: an environment where people from all backgrounds thrive, work together for the common good, and are transformed by the positive energy that supports growth and development for everyone.
