Several faculty, staff, students and clinical instructors were celebrated in the 2021 DUSON Virtual Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Yufen Lin, PhD'21, Chip Bailey, associate professor, and Sharron Docherty, assistant dean, PhD in Nursing Program, presented at the 2021 Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Congress, which ran from April 27 to 29.

Several DUSON faculty and students were featured in the May/June issue of the Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (JANAC).

Roy Thompson, PhD student, performed in Duke Opera Theater’s spring 2021 production of "Flute & Figaro al Fresco."

Jennie De Gagne, professor, has been awarded grant funding from Duke Learning Innovation (DLI)'s Carry the Innovation Forward: Realizing Duke’s Post-Pandemic Future program.

Kudos to Lauren Holt, PhD student, and her faculty sponsor Michael Relf for the submission of her application entitled: “Understanding Sexual Health Decision-Making and Risk Perception Among Adolescent and Young Adult Cisgender Females using Prescribed Contraceptives: A Grounded Theory Study."

Kais Gadhoumi, Ran Xiao and Xiao Hu co-wrote "Technical considerations for evaluating clinical prediction indices: a case study for predicting code blue events with MEWS" in Physiological Measurement. 

Nurse practitioner Zahra Roble was searching for a way to better care for her patients and found the answer at the Duke University School of Nursing.

Roble, who resides in Minnesota and cares for patients with diabetes, thyroid diseases, hypertension and related conditions, earned her Endocrinology certificate earlier this spring.

“All the faculty were very kind and very good,” she said. “I was very satisfied with the program and the knowledge that I gained.”

Dr. Michael Cary has been named the Elizabeth C. Clipp Term Chair in Nursing and Dr. Devon Noonan has been named the Dorothy L. Powell Term Chair in Nursing, effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.
