Welcome to the Office of Global and Community Health Initiatives!
Bringing DUSON to the World and the World to DUSON.
We live in an increasingly diverse and global community. Now more than ever, it is vital to cultivate nurse leaders who are culturally sensitive, aware of current and emerging health needs and poised to address health disparities worldwide. As the Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) has grown and expanded, so too has our global reach.
The Office of Global and Community Health Initiatives (OGACHI) was established in 2006 to manage and promote local, regional and international activities for the School of Nursing. We facilitate the development and implementation of partnerships and linkages across Duke and beyond to improve health outcomes through education, research and service for vulnerable populations worldwide.
We are taking DUSON to the world and bringing the world to DUSON. We invite international scholars to collaborate with our faculty, provide opportunities for our nursing students to gain an array of skills in diverse global settings, support faculty scholarship and research, host visiting delegations and dignitaries and expand understanding of global health topics through our annual global health lecture and symposium.
