Nephrology Grand Rounds

Nephrology Grand Rounds are the primary teaching conference of the Division of
Nephrology. Both clinical and basic science topics pertinent to nephrology are
presented at this conference. Each fellow, guided by a faculty-mentor, will
present once a year. Speakers from outside the Division of Nephrology and Duke
University will also be incorporated into the conference schedule.

Community Work Day

Come join us in the fields to lose track of time, be outdoors, practice embodied work, and experience profound community with plants, soil, and humans! Our students, volunteers, and staff consistently say that their most memorable memories at DCF are the conversations they shared over a wheelbarrow of mulch or while tackling weeds in a bed of carrots together. Absolutely no farming experience is necessary, and there is no Duke affiliation required. We have tasks for most ages and abilities.

CCN Colloquium: "The Impact of Sex on Alcohol Induced Dysregulation of the Neuroimmune System”

Dr. Marshall is broadly interested in the neurobiological mechanisms that contribute to alcohol abuse. The nature of these interests has led to the Marshall lab using pharmacologic, molecular, and behavioral techniques to find novel therapeutic targets to curb alcohol misuse. His main focus is on the effects that dysregulation of glia and cytokines have on brain damage and addiction.

Learn Neurographic Art - PhD Student Mindfulness

Pratt PhD students are invited to discover the calming of Neurographic Art in a hands-on tutorial designed to quiet the mind and spark creativity. Anna Batsakes from DUKE LIVE FOR LIFE will teach simple techniques that turn lines and shapes into a meditative, expressive artwork, no art experience needed.
Neurographic Art is a mindful drawing practice using continuous lines, shapes, and color to help reduce stress, and encourage emotional balance. The process is intuitive and relaxing, making it accessible to everyone.
