Student Success Impact Award
Awarded to 2 Students
The Student Success Award acknowledges students who have demonstrated excellence, personal growth, and positive contributions to the campus community. This versatile award serves to recognize and celebrate the diverse achievements and contributions of students across various domains by reflecting DUSON’s commitment to holistic student success and well-being.
Criteria: Students must have completed at least one semester of coursework in their academic program and be in good academic standing.
Nomination statements should include concrete examples of how nominees demonstrate one or more of the following qualities:
- Academic excellence, leadership, and positive contributions to campus life.
- Strong character, integrity, and ethical behavior in their interactions, decisions, and contributions to the campus community.
- Resilience, perseverance, and determination.
- Role modeling, peer mentorship and support, and inspiring others to succeed and thrive.
- Innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit in academic, extracurricular, or community pursuits.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Embodying DUSON’s mission and core values by actively promoting a culture of excellence, diversity, equity, inclusion, and service.
- Continuous improvement, a commitment to lifelong learning, and personal and professional development.
Student Organization of the Year Award
Awarded to 1 student club/organization
This award recognizes a student organization that has demonstrated exceptional commitment, impact, and innovation in fulfilling its mission and serving its members and the broader community.
Nomination statements should include concrete examples of how nominees demonstrate one or more of the following qualities:
- Leadership and Governance through transparent, ethical decision-making, clear and consistent communication, implementation of policies and procedures that promote accountability and inclusivity, and/or compliance with institutional policies, guidelines, and regulations governing student organizations.
- Membership Engagement by actively engaging a diverse membership base in club activities, events, and initiatives; providing opportunities for members to contribute ideas, voice opinions, and take on leadership roles; and/or fostering a sense of belonging, inclusivity, safety, and community among members.
- Impact and Contributions to the Campus Community through events, programs, or initiatives that positively impact the campus community and enhance student life or by collaborating with other clubs, departments, and organizations to address campus needs, and/or demonstrating innovation, creativity, and effectiveness in addressing student interests and concerns.
- Achievement of Goals and Objectives outlined in the club's mission statement or constitution as evidenced by strategic planning, goal setting, and progress towards organizational priorities and/or evolving and adapting to meet changing student needs, interests, and trends.
- Outreach by actively engaging in meaningful community service, volunteerism, civic engagement, or philanthropic activities that benefit the broader community and/or by exercising social responsibility and making a positive difference beyond campus borders.
- Innovation and Creativity as evidenced by approaches, programs, or initiatives that distinguish the organization and contribute to its success via event planning, marketing strategies, or outreach efforts that attract and engage members.
- Sustainability and Longevity as evidenced by a continuous leadership presence, fostering institutional memory, and/or long-term impact and legacy within the campus community.
