Gonzalez-Guarda Awarded Funding for COVID Latinx Project

Congratulations to Rosa Gonzalez-Guarda, associate professor, and her research team who received an award from the Duke Health Greatest Need philanthropic fund for her proposal entitled: “SER Hispano Community Health Worker (CHW) COVID-19 Prevention Intervention."

The aims of the project are to adapt and test an existing community health worker (CHW) COVID-19 prevention and symptom management intervention developed by NCDHHS to mitigate the unique acculturation stressors and improve sources of resilience that are social drivers of health (SDOH) in Latinx immigrant communities.

Ibemere Submits Proposal on Comparing NP Satisfaction

DUSON Represented at Duke CFAR's Annual Retreat

On September 28, the Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) of Duke University held their 16th Annual Fall Scientific Retreat. Several DUSON faculty and students presented at this annual event.

Smith Submits Proposal for Study on Adult Childhood Cancer Survivors

Randolph, Johnson Publish Article on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis

Assistant Professors Schenita Randolph and Ragan Johnson co-wrote "Leveraging social networks of Black women in beauty salons to improve uptake of pre-exposure prophylaxis" in Health Education Journal. Coauthors include Danielle Meyers of Duke Cancer Institute, Davon Washington of Duke Clinical & Translational Science Institute, and Lamercie Saint-Hillaire, of Duke Family Medicine and Community Health.
