The Mary Lou Williams Center for Black Culture is excited to offer a variety of training opportunities to university partners. They are hosting a revamped suite of trainings, workshops, and discussions covering topics such as anti-Black racism, anti-racism, and race-based stress and battle fatigue. These are open to faculty, staff, and students.

Several weeks ago, Chancellor A. Eugene Washington tasked Paula Tanabe, vice dean of Research, with developing research specific goals to contribute to the racial justice initiatives at Duke and complement the work of the Racial Justice Task Force. These goals were established with faculty input on a very short turn around and have been submitted and accepted by the chancellor.
Duke Health's Government Relations produced an article on Rosa Gonzalez-Guarda, associate professor, to position her as an expert resource for policymakers in regard to her expertise and active efforts in supporting the Latinx community during the pandemic.
