Mountz Joins Jobs Plus Program Planning Group
Heather Mountz, D-CHIPP coordinator, was asked to join Durham Housing Authority (DHA)'s Jobs Plus Program Planning Group. DHA recently received a four-year $2.3 million Jobs Plus grant from Housing and Urban Development. The program is aimed to provide job training and assistance to residents at DHA’s largest public housing property, McDougald Terrace.
Irene Felsman, assistant professor and D-CHIPP faculty affiliate, and Heather Mountz, D-CHIPP coordinator, recently coordinated a virtual training for students interested in assisting during a natural disaster. The 18 ABSN students completed learning modules and example disaster simulations prior to the three-hour online training.
