Video Editing

DESCRIPTION:

For do-it-yourself basic video editing, MediaSite Desktop Recorder is available for all faculty.  With this tool, users can create and edit videos on their desktop or in the DUSON recording studio.

CITDL offers regular brown-bag training sessions with this tool as well as one-on-one training that can be scheduled by calling 684-9200.  Self-service training is also available by watching the video below.

For more complex editing or if you would like support, CITDL staff can provide video editing for you.  We request that you provide enough lead time so that we can meet your required timelines.

HOW TO USE:

Faculty who have video clips from their classroom lectures, recording studio sessions or videos recorded in the home or office have several options available for editing their work.

Edits such as trimming the start and end of lectures can be done at your desktop or in the Recording Studio using MediaSite Desktop Recorder. You can also use this software for joining multiple files, adding transitions between the individual clips. Please see the attached instructions on using this software.

Mediasite offers an online tool that faculty can use for editing their Mediasite recordings.  The tool is available through your Media Catalog.  The first time you use your catalog, you will need to contact the IT Service Desk to gain access to this tool.

If you would like to have your video editing in-house by CITDL staff, call the IT Service Desk to set up an appointment with an analyst.
